Ön İnceleme

Ağustos’ta ziyaret ettiğim Köln’deki Gamescom 2010 fuarında, görme imkanına sahip olduğum yapımlardan bir tanesi de Homefront’tu. THQ’yla olan randevumuza istinaden, özel bir odada gösterimi yapılan Homefront, sağlam aksiyon sahneleriyle ilgi çekici olmuştu. Beklenen FPS’lerden birisi olan Homefront, sadece biz oyun yazarları değil, ziyaretçilerin de beğenisini toplamıştı. Gerçek dışı ama ilginç bir hikayeye sahip olan Homefront, bize kendi evimize hapsolmuş izlenimini verme konusunda iddialı gözüküyordu. İlk izlenimlerimizden biri de, grafiklerin biraz daha geliştirilebileceğiydi. Homefront’un yapımının da sürdüğünü düşünürsek, bu konuda rötuşlar yapmak için hala epey zaman olduğunu söyleyebiliyoruz.

Amerika zor durumda

Biraz hikayeden bahsetmek gerekirse, günümüzde halen ayrı olan Kuzey ve Güney Kore, ülkenin başına gelen son başkanının da çalışmalarıyla birleşme kararı alırlar. Bunu yaptıktan sonra diğer Uzakdoğu ülkelerinin de desteklerini almaya başlarlar. En büyük destekçilerinden bir tanesi Japonya olmuştur. Finansal ve askeri olarak gerekli gelişimini tamamladıktan sonra da, elektromanyetik güçlerini kullanarak Amerika’yı işgal eder. Hawaii’den başlayan bu çıkartma, tüm Amerika’yı etkisi altına almaya başlamıştır. Herkes, adeta kendi evinde kapana kısılmıştır ve ufak kasabalara, hatta mahallelere çekilmiştir. Hayatta kalmaya çalışmak ve mümkün olduğunca Kore istilasına direnmek durumundadırlar. Sene 2027 ve artık kaos çok yakındır.

Yöneteceğimiz karakterin ismi Jacobs. Fuarda da gösterildiği üzere, 14 saatlik bir uykudan uyanarak başlıyoruz. Kalkıp pencereden baktığımız zaman, çok ufak bir mekanda yaşam mücadelesi veren insanları görüyoruz. Hepsi günlük işlerini yapmaya devam ediyorlar. Homefront’un başlıca özelliklerinden bir tanesi, ara videolarla oyunun kesilmeyeceği. Her şey gerçek zamanlı olarak gelişmeye devam edecek. Tabii ki belirli görevler ve amaçlar çerçevesinde hareket edeceğiz ancak bu, alışılagelmiş savaş oyunlarındaki gibi çizgisel biçimde olmayacak. İnsanlarla konuşmalı, gelişmeleri öğrenmeli ve buradan ortaya çıkacak stratejilere göre hareket etmeliyiz. Bunların bizi oyundan soğutmayacak şekilde olması iyi bir özellik.

Geniş ve heyecan dolu savaş alanları bizleri bekliyor olacak. Bize yapılan gösterimde, bir otoparktaydık ve sessiz ortam bir yanda karıştı. Füzeler ve mermiler havada uçuşmaya başladı. Bunlar olurken son derece iyi aksiyon sahneleriyle karşılaşmıştık. Alevlerin arasından geçip bir kuleye sığındığımız, daha sonra bu kulenin yıkıldığı ve sonra elimize geçirdiğimiz roketatarımızla araçları yok ettiğimiz sahneler bizi ekrana çivilemişti. Silahlar demişken, öyle çok teknolojik ya da prototip silahlarla karşılaşmayacağımız belirtiliyor. Alışılagelmiş makineli tüfekler, tabancalar ve roketatarlar burada da yerlerini alacaklar. Yine de, 2027 senesinde geçiyor olduğundan dolayı, silahlar üzerinde ufak tefek yenilikler de beklemiyor değiliz. Ayrıca kullanabileceğimiz araçlar da olacak ancak onlar hakkında çok ayrıntılı bilgiler verilmiyor. Bizim fuarda gördüğümüz, hem düşmanlara hem de binalara zarar veren Crasher isimli bir araç vardı ki gayet sağlam gözüküyordu.

Amerika vs. Büyük Kore

Homefront’un en iddialı olacağı konulardan biri de çoklu oyuncu modu. 32 kişiye kadar online oyunların destekleneceği yapımın çoklu oyuncu kısmında, hem Amerikalıları hem de Korelileri seçebileceğiz. Ayrıca buradaki hikaye sistemi olarak da, tek kişilik oyundan önceki olaylar konu edilecek. Oynayabileceğimiz mod’lardan birtanesinin adı Ground Control”. Bu modda, haritada belirtilmiş olan bölgeleri ele geçirmeye çalışacağız. Her öldürdüğümüzde ya da bir yeri ele geçirdiğimizde, savaş puanları kazanacağız ve bunlarla silah, yetenekler ve araçlar satın alabileceğiz. Kullanabileceğimiz yetenek puanlarımızla ölüm kusan bir helikopter ya da sağlam bir roketatar alabilmek tamamen bizim elimizde olacak.

Homefront, ana hikayesiyle merak uyandırıyor. Çıktığında, oynadıkça ve ilerledikçe ne şekilde gelişeceğini merak ediyoruz. Belki tüm kıta Büyük Kore’nin eline geçecek, belki de Amerika bu kaostan kurtulacak ama eski haline dönemeyecek. Bunların cevabını alabilmek için 2011’in mart ayına kadar beklememiz gerekiyor. Homefront, PC’nin yanında PS3 ve Xbox360 için de piyasalarda olacak.
