XAMPP is an integrated server package that contains many different services in one including mail, web, FTP, and WebDAV. The program uses various open software packages to power the various services including Apache, MySQL, FileZilla, PHP, JSP Java, OpenSSL, etc. and available add-ons can enable Perl and Tomcat services.
A smaller version called XAMPP-Lite is also available that takes up less disk space, but has fewer components.
